Portobello Dreaming

Hi all! How's it going?

Apologies for the delay in getting this post up, I have been absolutely exhausted for the past few days and a bit busy. On the plus side, I have more good news!!

The company that I'm going to be freelance writing for have also offered me the opportunity to interview for a three-week internship in their office in London next week! I'm so excited, not to mention extremely humbled to be considered! I cannot wait to get more information about the job and hopefully it all works out and I'll get the job! Wish me luck!

As I mentioned in my previous post (and as you may have guessed from the title of this) I went to Portobello Road the other day. Unfortunately, we, my mother and I, got there a lot later than planned as errands overran etc so we didn't make it down to the flea market section. This made me super sad as I was dying to have a browse around but we did get to visit loads of stalls and I got some lovely snaps of the area. Notting Hill is gorgeous! I'll put the main pics for the day further down and start with my outfit of the day.

(This is my first outfit post in a while and I'm still fairly new at them so bare with me if the shots aren't perfect)

Hat - Portobello Market
Earrings - New Look (I think)
Bracelets - H&M
Sunglasses - River Island
Dress and Lace Top - Sainsbury's
Belt and Rucksack - Primark
Desert Boots - Clark's

The day was surprisingly warm so I regretted wearing quite so much black (especially as I was in leggings as well) but that will teach me to not look at the weather forecast before leaving the house! Apart from overheating while we were walking around, this is quite a nice swishy outfit with a feminine twist. I love wearing waist belts to create more drastic curves, and let's be honest, I have a lot to get drastic with :)

The hat set off the outfit perfectly I think. My mother has taken to calling it my "Clockwork Orange" hat and I can't disagree! There is something incredibly edgy about it. I'm quite proud of myself for experimenting with the lace top under the strapless maxi. Obviously I might be a bit bias, but I think it works quite well. It's a good way to cover up if you aren't entirely happy with your upper chest and arms area without having to resort to a cardigan or jacket etc. It's definitely a look that I will be experimenting with again.

One of the main points of the trip out was to buy hats. I was after a bowler (shown above) because I was convinced it would really suit my short punky haircut (it does, hooray!) and my mum has shaved all her hair off (she looks beautiful) and wanted to experiment with new hats as well.

So we had a fantastic time at this stall and the guy running it was so nice! I got my bowler (not the one in the picture obviously) and Mama ended up getting a really cute purple fedora thing. Success!!

Even though we didn't get to the flea market, we still had a lovely day wandering around and seeing what there was to see. We ended the day on Oxford Street and I got to have a browse around my favourite shop, Urban Outfitters!!

Here are the rest of the photos for the rest of the day. I hope you enjoy them and if you get the opportunity to go along to Portobello Road, I would definitely say go!

Stay golden :) xo
