Now if you're a 20 something graduate, male or female, and you haven't seen this show... Why haven't you?! Being a recent struggling graduate myself, I have been loving this show (this and Underemployed. So clever. Go watch it!) It's difficult not to relate to the frustrated and sometimes crazy decisions and impulses that these girls make. Everything is so fresh and new and scary and, when it comes down to it, no one has got a damn clue what's going on!
From the second Jessa, played by British-born actress and artist Jemima Kirke, appeared, she was my favourite. She's all the things I mentioned before plus, and this is my personal opinion even though I'm not sure why, British people in American shows always seem so much cooler.
The main thing that caught my eye about Jessa were her clothes. She has an endless array of expressive and intriguing, yet flattering, clothes and I absolutely fell in love with them. I literally have not disliked a single outfit that she's worn or how she's worn it.
It's always nice on television shows to see slightly bigger women. Now Jessa/Jemima is by no means large, but she's no size 8 either. I'll be honest, I'm not sure exactly but I think she might have been pregnant in parts (all of?) season 2. Regardless, all of her clothes are styled perfectly to her and I find her a fashion force to be reckoned with!
Even the simplest of outfits, styled with a belt or a bangle or even the way something is tucked in just oozes with carefree-ness and cool, exactly how I'd sum up Jessa's character!
I know I keep going on about Jessa like she's an actual person, I know she's not
So my conclusion for this is all hail Queen Jessa! And the wonderful Jemima Kirke, who plays her amazingly, and the epic Lena Dunham, who writes, stars in and directs the show! I adore Lena Dunham, she is beyond incredible, but that is a blog post for another time.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to trawling through eBay for Jessa style kimonos (like I haven't been for the past two hours anyway)
xoxo

I love this post. I too want to be care-free and effortless, wandering around in wafty fabrics, Bangles stacked up high. x If you find any kimonos let me know x
