I am pretty sure everyone who frequents the online blogging fashion and beauty world is sick to death of seeing this everywhere. Well, look away now because, yes, this is another love note dedicated to the sophisticated perfection of the Zara City Office Bag (with a little "What's in my bag?" tag included. But mainly just a love note)
This bag, my friends, is pure perfection. It's difficult to find the right words to emphasise just how functional it is. To put it extremely simply, it's practical and pretty!!
There are (what seems like) a million and one hiding places for absolutely everything. You've got three zipped compartments (the middle one padded for a laptop), two pockets, a card holder, phone holder, extra mini zip compartment (where I keep my keys) and a padded iPad/tablet compartment. Phew! I'm pretty sure I've forgotten something as well.
I think the thing that I find the most amazing about this bag is the weight distribution. On its own, it's surprisingly light anyway, but obviously once you start loading up the pockets, the weight piles on fast. It's easy to think "what have I let myself in for?!" when you pick it up fully loaded, but when you put it either in the crook of your arm or on your shoulder using the strap, the weight
Now I am not a scientist of any description so I am not even going to try to explain how this works, but it does and it's incredible. It was definitely the cherry on the top of a very cool and chic ice cream sundae.
The simple design and deep, luxurious purple of the pockets makes it extremely appealing to even the fussiest of bag-lovers and I think that this is why it's so popular.
Zara, we salute you! Thank you for providing the fashionistas and fashion savvy working ladies with something so simple and yet so elegant and practical!
Fawning over, on to the tag section. So, without further ado, this is what was in my bag today:
My main items: purse, diary and iPad.
My degree. I had a job interview & they wanted to see it.
Boo fuzzy :(
From left to right: My make-up bag, umbrella (so mature), tissues,
Oyster card holder, hand cream, phone cover, £25 (!!!) Forever 21 voucher,
headphones, cow torch (as you do), painkillers, eye drops, lip balm,
pen & keys. Phew!
*Insert shameless plugging here*
Quick final note, I had this card on me because I went here for dinner tonight. It's a mainly student run restaurant but the food is amazing and cheap too! I had a three course meal of mushroom risotto, chicken stuffed with mango and brie with dauphinoise potatoes and corgettes, and a completely decadent chocolate fondant with raspberry sauce and vanilla and chocolate ice cream for dessert. Safe to say that I am currently completely stuffed!
They had a themed "Hell's Kitchen" night tonight with two rival menus and the diners had to vote on which dishes were the best. It's not the first, and it won't be the last, themed night they have so it's well worth joining the mailing list to be kept in the loop. They also do brilliant community events there. For example, last week they had a "Deaf Dinner" for the local deaf community and they were turning people away at the door!
I would definitely recommend visiting if you're local to, or even visiting, South-East London/Croydon. Like I said before, it's very reasonably priced and the students need the practise but take my word for it, you won't be disappointed. It's closed for the Easter holidays but will be open again in April. I can't wait to go back!

You've made me want this bag even more! I managed to get it in tan, but I'm still hoping the black one will come in! One of the ladies in Zara even gave me her mobile number so she could check for me whenever! Babe.
ReplyDeleteGreat post :) x
