Velcome to my cave of fashoon! Mwahahaha!!
Okay, that's the last time I try to phonetically imitate Dracula. I promise. It'll all make sense in a minute.
Now after avoiding it for quite a few years, I discovered a love of River Island while at university. They're quite expensive and not very forgiving to us ladies with a lot of junk in our trunk, but they do go up to a size 18, their collections cannot be faulted and their sales are amazing, so for those reasons, I'm a fan.
The items I tend to lean towards in RI aren't so much their "mainstream", if you will, clothes. I noticed a while ago that they do edgy and almost gothic clothes really well, so well in fact that often if I need or want something along those lines, I will more than likely head to River Island first. I went through quite an emo phase while I was in secondary school and I don't think I ever fully "recovered". I'm a lot more adventurous in my fashions now, as you well know, but sometimes you can't beat a little emo-y goodness. After all, black never goes out of fashion.
So here is a quick wishlist of River Island things that I would love to get my hands on! Welcome to the dark side, we have cookies :)

Urban Outfitters Wishlist: Show Me Your Quirk!
Hey all! How's it going?
Here's the next instalment on my wishlist and this time we are in heaven a.k.a Urban Outfitters!
Urban Outfitters is by far my favourite shop. If money was no object, I would most probably get all of my clothes from there, not to mention all my homeware and books too!
I find UO perfectly matches my individual style and personality more than any other shop I've ever come across. It's quirky, it's unusual, it's sometimes a bit rude with a hell of an attitude and it's always completely unique and true to itself. Everything about the fashions and even the décor in the shops screams Make Your Mark and Live Your Life. I am a major supporter of these messages in fashion and am definitely going to fly the flag for UO for a long time to come.
A blog post outlining every single item that I want from Urban Outfitters would take about a week to get through, so I've just outlined a few things from their website, some of which I've also seen in store, that I would love love love to get my hands on. This is including several pieces from Sparkle and Fade, my favourite of the brands that they sell instore. Edgy with a hint of sparkle and glam = Perfection.

Topshop Wishlist: Zombies And Flatforms And Socks, Oh My!
Hello my lovelies! Well, for the start of today's post, a quick life update is needed.
I officially have my first freelance writing job! I'll be writing hair, fashion, beauty and business articles for an online magazine that will be launching in November. I'm insanely excited about getting started! I'll keep you up to date with what's going on and am probably going to spam here with all the details once everything is live. Can't wait!!
I've been doing some window shopping and online browsing as a sort of celebration for my up and coming writing career and I realised there are quite a few things that I'm lusting over recently. I'll split this over a few posts and this is the Topshop edition!

Life: Rules For The Modern Lady
Hello there! I know it's been a while and I apologise (again) but I've been on holiday and all sorts since my last post. I was lucky enough to have a beautiful week away with my mum and sister and all her kids and partner and in-laws. Phew! It was hectic! But a good time nevertheless. Anyway, I'm back now, doing good and raring to get on with it! I also have a brand new blog filled with my lovely creative scribblings! Check out Written By Talie Louise here and subscribe if you like what you read!
I'm forever musing about life, the universe and everything, just in case you hadn't guessed that by now. I somehow ended up thinking the other day about how gender roles and rules just weren't the same any more. This is by no means a bad thing but it made me think how certain etiquette that was just expected from ladies in particular has been pushed aside but not necessarily forgotten. To a certain extend, in general, women are still expected to be dainty and pretty and delicate, but this just isn't the case for a lot of us.
Which is when I decided that I would write some rules for the modern lady. We can be classy as hell, all while rocking a pink afro if we want. As a disclaimer, I should probably say these rules aren't for everyone, they are based on my own experiences and feelings and I wanted to share what I thought.
So, after that long winded introduction, here are Talie Louise's Rules for the Modern Lady:

Life: How To Survive A 5 Year-Old's Birthday (And Other Present Related Horrors)
Almost the baby's birthday *Insert terrified face here*
Humans can be notoriously difficult. As a species, it seems to be in our genetic makeup to complicate even the simplest of situations. A lot of the time we don't even realise we're doing it and a lot of the time we don't even have to do anything. Of course, I'm talking about that most perilous of first world problems: Presents.
What are you ever supposed to buy people? How can you do well for a birthday on a budget and still make it look special or important? If you're not on a budget, how much to spend? Why is it always the people you know the best that are the most difficult to buy for?

Looks: Express Yourself! The T-Shirt Edition
"Hipsterpotamus" tank from David and Goliath - £10
Apologies for not writing a post in a while, I'll be honest, it's literally this weather!! It's completely sapping all my energy and I seriously don't know what to do with myself apart from sit at home in front of the fan, drinking iced everything and wearing as few clothes as decency will allow.
Anyway, as anyone who knows me will tell you, I'm a big kid. I often complain about not appearing grown up in comparison to my friends, but then insist on buying tops of hippos with ginger moustaches and glasses baring phrases like "hipsterpotamus".
Instead of complaining about my massive collection of graphic tees, I thought it would be a good idea to celebrate my childish clothes and let you sneak a peek at my wardrobe at the same time. (I tried to price these but some of them I got ages ago so really don't remember how much they were!)
Enjoy!
