Sweater Weather Tag

Hello hello!

How are we all doing? Keeping warm? I think it's safe to say that Summer is well behind us and we're well and truly into Autumn. The leaves are falling, the wind is violent and there's the ever present threat of rain hanging over our heads. Ah, the British seasons.

In keeping with the season, I decided to do an Autumn, or Fall if you're from the US, tag. It's been doing the rounds on Youtube and is adorably called Sweater Weather (as you can no doubt guess from the title). There are several variations around but I got my list of questions from Ingrid a.k.a Miss Glamorazzi as I really liked the variation. You can check out her video here. And without further ado, here is my Sweater Weather post!

Get Ready With Me: Halloween Dinner Date

Before and After

Hello my loves!

How was your Halloween? Did you all have a spooktacular time? (Couldn't resist, sorry)

I didn't have anything planned for the day specifically apart from meeting my bff for our usual Thursday dinner date. I did think however, as it is All Hallows Eve, I would make a bit more of an effort on my usual dinner make up (nothing), go a bit gothy with all black errthang and do my first Get Ready With Me post for you guys! So keep on reading if you want to see my step by step on how I achieved the above look!

October Favourites

Greetings one and all!

Welcome to my first ever monthly favourites post! I'm quite excited that I managed to get myself organised to be able to do this on time!

I'm going to try my best to make this a regular feature on my blog as I know, personally, I enjoy seeing what people have been loving. Let's be honest, we're all a bit nosey, otherwise why would we read blogs or watch the gurus on Youtube? So feel free to have a nosey at what I have been loving during the month of October!

Rules For The Modern Lady Pt. Deux

Hallo my lovelies!

How is everyone doing? Personally I'm having a bit of a disappointing week at the moment, but onwards and upwards as they say! No point in moping around expecting things to get better, I'll have to go out and make things better, am I right?

My introductions are usually so long-winded but I don't think I have much to say today. Brain, much of an input? No? Alrighty then, on with the post!

Here we have, as promised, more of Talie Louise's Rules For The Modern Lady!

London Lady Loves Life

*Warning: This is a totally random post that I am just writing for the sake of writing. It has pictures and words, but it may not necessarily contain any structure, reason or sense. You have been warned*

So I just realised I signed my last post "love and sunshine". It fits I guess because the post was supposed to gone up in the last days of summer, but writing that made me realise that I didn't say at all how happy I was that Autumn is finally here...

Late Summer Apologies

So this blog post has been written in my head for well over a month now. I apologise for the incredibly long absence! I know it's no excuse but was at my internship for three weeks and that pretty much took over my life. But I am back now and determined to try really hard at keeping this blog going strong! This is mainly going to be a text post but I do have a few little pictures that I wanted to share.

River Island Wishlist: FAO Your Inner Emo Child

Velcome to my cave of fashoon! Mwahahaha!!

Okay, that's the last time I try to phonetically imitate Dracula. I promise. It'll all make sense in a minute.

Now after avoiding it for quite a few years, I discovered a love of River Island while at university. They're quite expensive and not very forgiving to us ladies with a lot of junk in our trunk, but they do go up to a size 18, their collections cannot be faulted and their sales are amazing, so for those reasons, I'm a fan.

The items I tend to lean towards in RI aren't so much their "mainstream", if you will, clothes. I noticed a while ago that they do edgy and almost gothic clothes really well, so well in fact that often if I need or want something along those lines, I will more than likely head to River Island first. I went through quite an emo phase while I was in secondary school and I don't think I ever fully "recovered". I'm a lot more adventurous in my fashions now, as you well know, but sometimes you can't beat a little emo-y goodness. After all, black never goes out of fashion.

So here is a quick wishlist of River Island things that I would love to get my hands on! Welcome to the dark side, we have cookies :)

Portobello Dreaming

Hi all! How's it going?

Apologies for the delay in getting this post up, I have been absolutely exhausted for the past few days and a bit busy. On the plus side, I have more good news!!

Urban Outfitters Wishlist: Show Me Your Quirk!

Hey all! How's it going?

Here's the next instalment on my wishlist and this time we are in heaven a.k.a Urban Outfitters!

Urban Outfitters is by far my favourite shop. If money was no object, I would most probably get all of my clothes from there, not to mention all my homeware and books too!

I find UO perfectly matches my individual style and personality more than any other shop I've ever come across. It's quirky, it's unusual, it's sometimes a bit rude with a hell of an attitude and it's always completely unique and true to itself. Everything about the fashions and even the décor in the shops screams Make Your Mark and Live Your Life. I am a major supporter of these messages in fashion and am definitely going to fly the flag for UO for a long time to come.

A blog post outlining every single item that I want from Urban Outfitters would take about a week to get through, so I've just outlined a few things from their website, some of which I've also seen in store, that I would love love love to get my hands on. This is including several pieces from Sparkle and Fade, my favourite of the brands that they sell instore. Edgy with a hint of sparkle and glam = Perfection.

Topshop Wishlist: Zombies And Flatforms And Socks, Oh My!

Hello my lovelies! Well, for the start of today's post, a quick life update is needed.

I officially have my first freelance writing job! I'll be writing hair, fashion, beauty and business articles for an online magazine that will be launching in November. I'm insanely excited about getting started! I'll keep you up to date with what's going on and am probably going to spam here with all the details once everything is live. Can't wait!!

I've been doing some window shopping and online browsing as a sort of celebration for my up and coming writing career and I realised there are quite a few things that I'm lusting over recently. I'll split this over a few posts and this is the Topshop edition!

Life: Rules For The Modern Lady

Hello there! I know it's been a while and I apologise (again) but I've been on holiday and all sorts since my last post. I was lucky enough to have a beautiful week away with my mum and sister and all her kids and partner and in-laws. Phew! It was hectic! But a good time nevertheless. Anyway, I'm back now, doing good and raring to get on with it! I also have a brand new blog filled with my lovely creative scribblings! Check out Written By Talie Louise here and subscribe if you like what you read!

I'm forever musing about life, the universe and everything, just in case you hadn't guessed that by now. I somehow ended up thinking the other day about how gender roles and rules just weren't the same any more. This is by no means a bad thing but it made me think how certain etiquette that was just expected from ladies in particular has been pushed aside but not necessarily forgotten. To a certain extend, in general, women are still expected to be dainty and pretty and delicate, but this just isn't the case for a lot of us.

Which is when I decided that I would write some rules for the modern lady. We can be classy as hell, all while rocking a pink afro if we want. As a disclaimer, I should probably say these rules aren't for everyone, they are based on my own experiences and feelings and I wanted to share what I thought.

So, after that long winded introduction, here are Talie Louise's Rules for the Modern Lady:

Life: How To Survive A 5 Year-Old's Birthday (And Other Present Related Horrors)

Almost the baby's birthday *Insert terrified face here*

Humans can be notoriously difficult. As a species, it seems to be in our genetic makeup to complicate even the simplest of situations. A lot of the time we don't even realise we're doing it and a lot of the time we don't even have to do anything. Of course, I'm talking about that most perilous of first world problems: Presents.

What are you ever supposed to buy people? How can you do well for a birthday on a budget and still make it look special or important? If you're not on a budget, how much to spend? Why is it always the people you know the best that are the most difficult to buy for?

Looks: Express Yourself! The T-Shirt Edition

"Hipsterpotamus" tank from David and Goliath - £10

Apologies for not writing a post in a while, I'll be honest, it's literally this weather!! It's completely sapping all my energy and I seriously don't know what to do with myself apart from sit at home in front of the fan, drinking iced everything and wearing as few clothes as decency will allow.

Anyway, as anyone who knows me will tell you, I'm a big kid. I often complain about not appearing grown up in comparison to my friends, but then insist on buying tops of hippos with ginger moustaches and glasses baring phrases like "hipsterpotamus".

Instead of complaining about my massive collection of graphic tees, I thought it would be a good idea to celebrate my childish clothes and let you sneak a peek at my wardrobe at the same time. (I tried to price these but some of them I got ages ago so really don't remember how much they were!)

Enjoy!

My Week: We're lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it!

So how are you all enjoying the sun? If you read my previous "50 Facts" post, you'll know I'm not a major fan of being hot so I'm suffering a bit, but you can't complain too much, eh? It's still absolutely beautiful out there and it's not too bad so long as you have a cold drink and a cool breeze!

Now this is just a quick post as I don't have enough material (or enough time for that matter) to do a complete review of any of the following, but I wanted to do a quick update on certain things that I was loving last week.

Review: Man of Steel

Can we please just take a minute to appreciate the absolute perfection that is Henry Cavill.

Done?

Good.

Anyway, on with the review!

Review: Danio Yogurt

Now please bear with me for my second review. When it comes to writing, at the moment I consider myself a jack of all trades but a master of none. At this current moment, I am not a food critic, but I did my best and therefore it's passable as a blog post. I say passable...

Enjoy!

Life: My Big, Wide, Workin' World

So I'm a writer who doesn't like bugs or loud noises. That has no relevance to anything. Hi.

Reviews: After Earth

Reviews are a new feature I'm going to try to do very regularly on this blog on pretty much anything I think require writing about. I was going to do reviews in a sort of "end of the month" feature but (for this month anyway), I didn't have enough to warrant a month-long post but too much for a single blog post. Complicated I know but it makes sense in my head to do them individually from now on.

Like I said before, I'm going to be writing about pretty much anything, but this is especially including samples or things that I've been sent for free. This is probably going to be quite often as I'm obsessing over vouchers and freebies recently. Also it's probably worth mentioning that the time scale on a couple of the reviews might not be accurate as sometimes they would have been written a while before being uploaded. This one, for example, I wrote last week.

So I've babbled on for long enough, without further ado, here is my first review!

Update: Movin' On Over!

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/9433775/?claim=dd2wvvpnq76">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

So I heard that Google Reader is shutting down and everyone is jumping ship to Bloglovin. Never one to ignore the masses, here is the link to my blog, should you want to follow it there.

That's all for now but got a post coming up tomorrow that's a bit different.

Stay tuned xo
